Eligibility
Must have a VA disability rating of 70-100% (this is the maximum partial exemption tier under Tex. Tax Code Sec. 11.22). Must own and occupy the property as your homestead.
Exemption
$12,000 is deducted from the assessed value of your home.

File at your county appraisal district with your VA rating letter.
Note
Veterans age 65+ with a 10%+ disability rating, those who are totally blind, or those who have lost use of one or more limbs from a service-connected injury qualify for the maximum $12,000 exemption regardless of disability rating percentage.
