Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
This policy covers information you give VetUnlock that could reveal something about your health, as defined by Washington’s My Health My Data Act and similar laws.
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Health data we collect and why
The only consumer health data we collect is what you choose to enter in the eligibility tool: your combined VA disability rating, and answers that can relate to it (Purple Heart, combat service, discharge status, and number of dependents).
We use it for one purpose: to show you the benefits you may qualify for and, if you ask, to email you a copy of those results. We don’t use it for advertising, analytics, or profiling.
Where it comes from
Only from you, when you answer the eligibility questions. We don’t buy health data or get it from anyone else.
How it’s handled and stored
- It stays in your browser tab and is deleted when you close the tab.
- It is sent to our server only to calculate your results. The server does not save or log it.
- It is never placed in page addresses, analytics, advertising, or error reports, and it is hidden from session recordings.
- We never sell it.
Who we share it with
We share it only with service providers (“processors”) that help us deliver what you asked for, under contracts that limit them to that purpose:
- Amazon Web Services hosts the server that calculates your results.
- Resend delivers the results email, only if you ask us to email them to you.
We don’t share it with anyone else.
Your rights
You can ask us to confirm whether we hold your health data, give you a copy along with a list of everyone we shared it with, or delete it. You can also withdraw consent by simply not using the tool, or by closing the browser tab to erase your answers.
Because we don’t store your answers, we usually won’t hold any health data about you. To make a request anyway, email contact@vetunlock.com with “Health data request” in the subject. We respond within 45 days. If we decline, you can appeal by replying with “Appeal” in the subject, and if you’re unhappy with the outcome you can contact the Washington State Attorney General.
For everything else we collect, see our main Privacy Policy.
