Eligibility

A qualifying Texas specialty plate — Disabled Veteran (50%+ VA rating, or 40%+ with lower-extremity amputation), Medal of Honor, Air Force Cross, Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, Purple Heart, or Legion of Valor.

NO ENROLLMENT REQUIRED

The discount applies automatically when a vehicle with a qualifying plate uses a TxDOT-operated toll facility. You do NOT need to link your DV plates to a TxTag account.

Covered (TxDOT-operated): Central Texas Turnpike System (SH 130, SH 45-N, Loop 1 in Austin), SH 99 Grand Parkway (Houston), SH 249 Project (Houston), SH 288 Managed Lanes (Houston), and TxDOT-operated TEXpress Lanes in DFW (SH 183, Loop 12, SH 114, I-635E, I-30, I-35E).

NOT covered

NTTA roads (Dallas North Tollway, President George Bush Turnpike, Sam Rayburn Tollway), Harris County Toll Road Authority (Hardy Toll Road, Westpark Tollway, Sam Houston Tollway, Beltway 8), CTRMA (183A, 290E, MoPac Express), and privately operated LBJ TEXpress / North Tarrant Express / NTE 35W.
