Overview

Eligibility (per RSA 193:19): Children ages 16-25 who are NH residents, whose parent (1) served during a qualifying war era — WWII (Dec 7, 1941-Dec 31, 1946), Korea (Jun 27, 1950-Jan 31, 1955), Vietnam (Feb 28, 1961-May 7, 1975), Gulf War (Aug 2, 1990 onward), or as an expeditionary medal recipient — AND (2) was declared Missing in Action (MIA) or a Prisoner of War (POW), OR died on active duty or from a service-connected disability while a NH resident at the time of death.

Covers

Cash assistance capped at $2,500 per student per year for up to 4 years, applied toward board, room rent, books, and supplies (not a full tuition waiver). Note: A separate, related benefit under RSA 193:20 provides free tuition at NH public institutions of higher education to the same class of eligible children.
