Eligibility
Separated under honorable conditions, served 181+ consecutive days on active duty (or discharged for service-connected disability), U.S. citizen or resident alien.
For county, city, school district, and other political subdivision open competitive positions: non-disabled veterans get 10 preference points. Disabled veterans (compensable service-connected disability): 15 preference points. For state agency positions, disabled veterans who meet minimum qualifications are ranked ahead of veterans, who are ranked ahead of non-veterans.
Spouses of deceased or disabled veterans may also receive points.
