Status

NOT in effect. HB25 (2023 Regular Session) would have amended KRS 150.170 to exempt 100% service-connected disabled veterans from all hunting and fishing license fees. The bill died in committee in 2023 without passage, and no successor has been enacted as of mid-2026. Currently, 100% disabled veterans (like 50%+ disabled veterans) qualify for the $12/year Disabled Sportsman's License, not a full fee exemption.

If enacted in the future, the exemption would cover the full cost of all licenses/permits.

How to apply (if/when enacted): Contact KY Fish & Wildlife with VA documentation.
