Who is eligible
Eligibility
Member of the Wyoming National Guard in good standing, eligible for reenlistment/continued service, and have completed Basic Training or OCS. Must reapply each term and maintain a 2.0 GPA.
What Wyoming National Guard Educational Assistance Plan covers
Covers
Full in-state tuition and mandatory fees at the University of Wyoming and all 8 Wyoming community colleges. Coverage at private institutions and DOD AU-ABC partner schools is limited (see program manager for details). Members can pursue up to TWO educational goals (certificate, associate, bachelor's, master's, JD, or PhD), with a 10-year completion window per program. One degree may be transferable to a college-aged dependent meeting DEERS and enlistment requirements.
Service obligation
First degree requires a 6-year Guard commitment + 2 years after final benefit use. Second degree requires completion of the first 6-year commitment plus an additional 4-year obligation plus 2 years post-benefit. All service must be in actively drilling status; failure to meet obligations results in fund repayment.
