Overview

Free fishing license (PFBC): PA resident + 100% service-connected disability certified by VA. Per PA Fish and Boat Commission, war or armed-conflict service is NOT required for the free fishing license — only 100% VA SC disability + PA residency.

Free hunting/furtaking license (separate program, PA Game Commission): Requires PA residency PLUS 100% service-connected disability OR loss/loss of use of one or more limbs from war or armed-conflict service. The hunting license has the additional combat/war requirement; the fishing license does not.

Both

Initial application at county treasurer's office with VA documentation. Fishing renewals available online via PFBC. Hunting administered by PA Game Commission (huntfish.pa.gov / pgc.pa.gov).

Always confirm current rates and rules with the Pennsylvania state agency before applying.
