About this benefit
Eligibility
Spouse, surviving spouse, child, or stepchild of a North Dakota resident veteran who was killed in action, died from service-connected causes, is 100% service-connected disabled, or declared MIA/POW. ND residency requirements (5-year rule for some applicants) may apply.
Covers
Free tuition and fees at any ND state-supported institution of higher education toward a bachelor's degree or certificate of completion. Coverage continues for so long as the dependent is eligible (no statutory 45-month / 10-semester cap; must apply via campus financial aid/veteran services after acceptance). Excludes aviation flight expenses.
