Details

Eligibility of the veteran

Must be rated 100% permanently and totally disabled (service-connected) by the VA, or died after discharge from service-connected injury/illness, or classified as MIA or POW.

Eligibility of the student

Must be a spouse (while still married) or child (until age 26, with possible extension to age 31 for active duty service after age 18). Must be a Nebraska resident meeting in-state tuition requirements.

Covers

100% of tuition and tuition-related fees at University of Nebraska, Nebraska State Colleges, and Nebraska Community Colleges. Does NOT cover non-tuition fees, housing, food, parking, books, or materials. Can be used for one community college degree AND one baccalaureate degree.

Processing

4-6 weeks for first-time applicants; 1-2 weeks for returning applicants.
