Eligibility
Service member or veteran seriously injured in the line of duty after September 11, 2001 while stationed in an area where they were receiving combat or hazardous duty pay. Injuries must be documented and fall within categories defined by DOD Joint Publication 1-02. Iowa resident.
Covers
Up to $10,000 in grants (paid in $2,500 increments) so family members can be present during the veteran's recovery.
How to apply
Submit application with DD-214, medical evacuation records, and other proof of serious injury to the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs (Marshalltown).
