Eligibility
Illinois resident veterans who served abroad (with DD-214) may purchase fishing, hunting, and combination sportsmen's licenses at one-half the standard fee. Illinois resident active-duty members and Guard/Reserve called to federal active duty by the President receive licenses without fee for a duration matching their service length (one year per year served). Non-resident veterans are not eligible.
Covers
Combined Sportsman's License with Habitat Stamp, fishing license, hunting license, deer permits (archery and firearm), and camping privileges.

In person at IDNR Springfield Headquarters (One Natural Resources Way, Springfield, IL 62702) or by email -- veterans: DNR.License@illinois.gov; active-duty / mobilized Guard / Reserve: DNR.OSSMilitary@illinois.gov. Required documentation: DD-214 (veterans) or proof of service dates plus photo ID.
