About this benefit
Eligibility
Illinois resident disabled veterans (per IDVA permits page and 17 IL Adm. Code 110) who have: permanent loss of use of a leg(s) or arm(s) or combination; or are so severely disabled as to require crutches/wheelchair; or receive 100% service-connected disability compensation. Also applies to former POWs (Illinois residents). Spouse, minor children, and grandchildren under 18 accompanying the veteran are also covered.
Covers
No camping fee and no admission fee at Illinois state parks. A utility fee may apply at certain campsite classes (e.g., electric sites) -- verify current amount with IDNR. Does not include rent-a-tent or cabin fees.
