About this benefit
Eligibility
Honorably discharged veteran physically residing in Florida while enrolled in a Florida public postsecondary institution. Veterans using VA educational assistance (including transferred Post-9/11 GI Bill) qualify with a VA Certificate of Eligibility. Active-duty members residing/stationed outside Florida also receive an out-of-state fee waiver under a separate provision.
Covers
Grants in-state tuition rates by waiving the out-of-state fee differential โ this is NOT a full tuition waiver. The savings (difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition) can be $10,000-$20,000+ per year at state universities.
Documentation
DD-214 OR VA Certificate of Eligibility, plus FL residency proof (driver license or lease).
