Details

Eligibility

Dependent children and spouses of: (a) veterans who died from a service-connected disability sustained on active duty, (b) veterans rated 100% permanent and total service-connected disabled, or (c) service members classified as MIA/POW. Note: paths (a) and (c) do not require a 100% rating.

Children must be ages 16-22 and initially eligible before their 23rd birthday. Spouse of disabled veteran must have been married 1+ years and is only eligible during the duration of the marriage. Spouse of deceased veteran must be un-remarried and apply within 5 years of veteran's death. Veteran must have Florida listed as official home of record in DEERS.

Covers

Scholarship covering tuition and fees at Florida public postsecondary institutions. Award covers 110% of required hours (private school awards capped at public-equivalent). Awards not currently available for summer term.

How to apply

Submit a completed Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) by April 1 for priority consideration. Contact: Office of Student Financial Assistance, 888-827-2004.
