Eligibility

Alabama resident who received a Purple Heart and was an Alabama resident at the time the Purple Heart was awarded. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program. Waiver applies only after all other educational benefits (except Montgomery GI Bill or Post-9/11 GI Bill) have been exhausted. Covers up to 125% of required credit hours.

Full tuition and fees at any Alabama public institution (2-year, 4-year, technical, community, junior colleges).

Submit DD-214 showing Purple Heart to the institution's veteran affairs office.
