Details

Eligibility

Children/stepchildren of veterans rated 40%+ service-connected disabled, or POW/MIA, or who died from service receive up to 5 academic years (10 semesters). The child or stepchild must initiate training prior to their 26th birthday (up to age 30 in certain situations). Spouses or unremarried widow(er)s of 100% P&T veterans receive up to 5 years; spouses of 40-90% veterans receive up to 6 semesters. The veteran must have been a permanent civilian resident of Alabama prior to entering military service.

Covers

Up to $400 per credit hour for undergraduate courses at the in-state tuition rate, plus a combined cap of $1,000 per academic year for required textbooks and applicable fees at any Alabama public institution. Applied after all other grants and scholarships.
