Eligibility
Honorably discharged veteran who served in the Kosovo, Iraq, or Afghanistan conflicts. Must have been a West Virginia resident for at least 6 months before entering service. Must apply within one year of completing qualifying service.
Covers
One-time payment of $600 for service in a combat zone, or $400 for service outside the combat zone (per HB 2285, 2005).
How to apply
Contact the WV Department of Veterans Assistance. Submit DD-214 showing proof of service and campaign medals.
