What Call for Hire: DC Government Veterans Hiring Program covers

Overview

Eligibility (Veterans): Served in the armed forces more than 180 consecutive days (inclusive of contingency operations). Honorable or general discharge (limited exceptions for discrimination cases). Must be a DC resident.

Eligibility (Spouses/Survivors): DC resident, AND either spouse of a disabled veteran with a VA rating of 30% or higher, OR un-remarried spouse of a service member killed on active duty.

Covers

Allows DC government agencies to non-competitively hire eligible veterans and their spouses for time-limited Career Service appointments at Grade 12 and below. Participants may later compete for permanent positions. Registration does not guarantee a job.
