Eligibility

VIA's reduced fare for disabled veterans is narrower than for general passengers. You must have ONE of the following from the VA: a permanent & total (P&T) disability rating of 80% or higher, aid & attendance benefits, or a housebound designation.

Discount

Reduced fare or discounted passes on VIA bus and transit services.

How to apply

Obtain a VIA Reduced Fare ID at any VIA Information Center (except the Randolph location) with written VA documentation verifying P&T 80%+, A&A, or housebound status.

Note

Veterans with lower ratings may still qualify under VIA's standard disabled-person reduced fare with separate medical documentation. Active-duty military in uniform do not need an ID to receive discounts.

Always confirm current rates and rules with the Bexar County agency before applying.
