Who is eligible
Eligibility
Same as VA National Cemetery eligibility (honorably discharged veterans). A 2026 state law also makes eligible those who served honorably in a Reserve component, the Army National Guard, or the Air National Guard for at least 8 years collectively, or who were called to service under state orders. Spouses and eligible dependent children may also be interred at no cost.

Five state veterans cemeteries — one in Nashville (Middle TN), one in Memphis (West TN), two in Knoxville (East TN), and one at Parkers Crossroads. Four of these (all except the Lyons View cemetery in Knoxville) now offer columbarium services for cremated remains.
