Overview
Eligibility (per SC Code 59-111-20): Child must be age 26 or younger pursuing an undergraduate degree. Veteran parent must have served honorably during a US war period (as defined by Section 101 of Title 38 U.S.C.) and meet one of nine qualifying circumstances, including: killed in action, died from service-connected cause, permanently and totally disabled from any cause (per VA determination), missing in action, former POW, or awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor or Purple Heart. The veteran must have been a SC resident at entry into and during service, or a SC resident for at least one year who still lives in SC (if deceased, a SC resident for one year before death); alternatively, the child has been a SC resident since birth. The child must also meet SC residency requirements (Title 59, Chapter 112).
