Eligibility
Veterans, their spouses, or unremarried surviving spouses who lack financial means to meet certain emergency needs.
Covers
Medical, dental, optical, hearing, transportation, and housing needs. Annual maximum of $5,000 per applicant. Funded by interest from the Veterans Postwar Trust Fund. Many services (dentures, hearing aids, emergency dental, medical travel) are paid directly to providers.
