About this benefit
Eligibility
Former member of U.S. Armed Forces whose active duty service (other than training) was terminated under honorable conditions AND who was a legal resident of NC at time of entry. Also eligible: members entitled to retired pay for Reserve/Guard service. Spouses, widows/widowers, and unmarried minor dependents also eligible (burial fee applies for family members).
