Free vehicle entry, boat launch, golf, and pool access at NY state parks for honorably discharged veterans + Gold Star families. Also covers DEC day-use areas.

Eligibility
New York resident veteran who served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces or state militia, including discharged LGBT veterans. A service-connected disability rating is NOT required. Also covers Gold Star Parents, Spouses, and Children. Once issued, the Lifetime Liberty Pass never expires. Issued by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
Covers
Free vehicle entry to most state-operated parks and DEC day-use areas, free greens fees at state-operated golf courses, free swimming pool access at State Park facilities, and DISCOUNTED (not free) camping and cabin rentals.
Not valid for
amenities operated by concessionaires or partners. Specific exclusions include 8 golf courses and 4 marinas — confirm the current excluded-facility list with NYS Parks before traveling.
How to apply
Two routes — (1) present a NY DMV photo ID that carries a "Veteran" designation at staffed entry locations, OR (2) order a free Lifetime Liberty Pass online by submitting discharge documentation (DD-214, NGB Form 22, or equivalent). Gold Star family members submit casualty documentation (DD-1300 or DoD telegram).
