About this benefit
Eligibility
Veteran with honorable discharge (active service in armed forces, reserves, or NH National Guard). Must have been a NH resident for at least 1 year prior to application OR had NH listed as home of record on discharge papers. No combat or service-connected disability requirement.
Asset rules
With assets above $30,000 the veteran pays the self-pay rate (~$348/day) until assets fall below $30,000; below $30,000 room and board is income-based. Home is not counted if a spouse/dependent resides there. 1-year asset look-back applies.
