Overview
Per RSA 21:50, RSA 283:4, and RSA 275-G:2: When the state is the employer, preference is given to a veteran (and spouses/unremarried surviving spouses) who is one of multiple equally-qualified candidates. Applies to State Liquor Commission, NH Veterans Home, and state/local government employment. HB 64 (effective Aug 22, 2025) broadened qualifying categories and added procurement preference for disabled veteran-owned and military spouse-owned businesses.
