Coverage

A free one-day Hunt permit, Habitat Stamp, and Nebraska Migratory Waterfowl Stamp, valid to hunt on Veterans Day (annually, November 11) only. Veterans wanting to hunt waterfowl must also purchase a Federal Duck Stamp and complete HIP registration.

Important to know

To qualify for and obtain the free permits, the hunter must have veteran status reflected in their customer profile in the Nebraska Game and Parks permit system, or carry one of the following during the hunt: a state-issued driver's license noting veteran status; a Department of Defense-issued ID (such as an Active Duty or Retired Active Military ID card); another military/government-issued ID indicating military service (such as a Veterans Affairs ID or Veteran Benefit Card); or a copy of DD214 or DD215 discharge paperwork.
