Who is eligible

Eligibility

Surviving spouse or child of a Montana National Guard member killed (or who died) as a result of injury, disease, or other disability incurred in the line of duty while serving on state active duty.

Covers tuition only at Montana University System campuses (mandatory fees, program fees, room, and board are NOT waived).

Waiver does not apply to the extent the person is eligible for comparable educational benefits from another governmental or private program.

Application must be received by the end of the third week of classes; awards are not retroactive. Student must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
