Statute

Section 36.220, RSMo (merit system veteran preference).

Eligibility

- 5 points: Honorably discharged veterans who served more than 180 consecutive days (other than for training) any part of which fell within qualifying wartime periods (incl. post-9/11).

- 10 points: Service-connected disabled veterans.

Spouses of disabled veterans unable to qualify and unremarried surviving spouses of deceased veterans may also qualify.

Missouri National Guard members on the register of eligibles are guaranteed an interview for state positions.
