Eligibility
Mississippi resident adjudged by the VA as having a total (100%) service-connected disability (Miss. Code §49-7-5 and §49-7-9). Must carry proof of residency and disability status while engaged in hunting or fishing.
Optional Disabled Exempt License is available for $5 as consolidated proof of eligibility.
Proposals to extend the exemption to all honorably discharged veterans (e.g., HB 542 in 2023, HB 370 in 2024) have not been enacted as of May 2026.
No application required for the exemption itself; carry proof.
