Eligibility
Veterans with a VA rating of 50% or more, honorably discharged, Michigan resident.
100% totally disabled veterans: free vehicle registration (exempt from ad valorem tax) on one passenger vehicle. 50-99% disabled veterans: eligible for DV plates but must pay applicable registration fees.
Also serves as the qualifying plate for free Recreation Passport (state parks access) for 100% disabled veterans.
