Coverage
License plates are issued free of charge. The plates display "Disabled Veteran" and are printed WITHOUT the wheelchair (universal disability) symbol, which is reserved for the 100% tier. Annual (or biennial) registration fees and the surcharge still apply.

How to apply
Complete form VR-120 ("Application for Military Related License Plates") and provide documentation from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (or the Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families) showing your disability percentage. Apply in person at any MVA full-service branch office, by mail to the MVA's plate unit in Glen Burnie (MDOT MVA, 6601 Ritchie Highway N.E., Glen Burnie, MD 21062), or through an MVA-licensed tag and title service.
