About this benefit
Eligibility
Veterans with other-than-dishonorable discharge who are Kentucky residents. Veterans rated 70% or higher VA disability receive care at no out-of-pocket cost.
Covers
24/7 skilled nursing care, physical/occupational/speech rehabilitation, secured dementia/Alzheimer's environments. Facilities: Thomson-Hood Veterans Center (Wilmore, 285 beds), Paul E. Patton Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center (Hazard, 120 beds), Carl M. Brashear Veterans Center (Radcliff, 120 beds), Western Kentucky Veterans Center (Hanson, 156 beds), and Robert E. Spiller Bowling Green Veterans Center (opening April 2026; 60 initial beds, expandable to 130-140).
