About this benefit
Eligibility
Children (under age 26), stepchildren, spouses, and unremarried widow(er)s of Kentucky veterans who were: killed in action during a wartime period, OR died as a result of a service-connected disability, OR 100% permanently and totally disabled (service-connected). The veteran must have been a Kentucky resident. No age limit for spouses/widow(er)s. Adopted children may also qualify per KRS 164.515 โ verify with KDVA.
Covers
Waiver of tuition only (not room, board, books, or fees) for up to 45 months at any Kentucky state-funded institution. In-state tuition at University of Kentucky is roughly $6,500/semester.
