Details

Eligibility

Honorable discharge with at least 90 days of active service, including at least one day during a recognized wartime period; physician documentation of need for 24-hour skilled nursing care. Kansas residents receive preference. Spouses, surviving spouses, and Gold Star Parents may qualify on a space-available basis.

Covers

Skilled nursing, Alzheimer's/dementia/memory care, domiciliary care, and cottage living. Costs are offset by VA per diem and resident's ability to pay; veterans rated 70%+ SC pay no resident fees.

Fort Dodge (Kansas Soldiers' Home) and Winfield (Kansas Veterans' Home).
