About this benefit
Eligibility
Must be certified eligible by the VA for the federal Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) Grant; must have been an Illinois resident at the time of entering service.
Covers
Lump sum up to $15,000 to assist in acquiring suitable housing with special fixtures/movable facilities. Additionally, up to $3,000 in a separate grant for remodeling costs exceeding the VA grant amount.
