About this benefit
Eligibility
Active duty military, honorably discharged veterans, military spouses, and surviving spouses. For honorably discharged veterans, the waiver typically applies to applications submitted within 24 months after discharge.
Covers
Waiver of initial or renewal registration fees for certain FDACS-regulated businesses including pawnbroking, motor vehicle repair, health studios, telemarketers, sellers of travel, and moving companies. Does NOT include concealed weapon licenses. FDACS-administered waivers are distinct from DBPR (myfloridalicense.com) professional license waivers.
2026 expansion: HB 1041 (Florida Veterans and Military Spouse Business Development Act) expands incentives for veteran/military-spouse businesses established between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2031.
