VALife eligibility
Must have a service-connected disability rating (even 0%) and be age 80 or younger.
Coverage
Up to $40,000 in increments of $10,000.
Premiums
Based on age and coverage amount; guaranteed acceptance with no medical underwriting. There is a 2-year waiting period for full coverage. If the veteran dies during the waiting period, the beneficiary receives premiums paid plus interest.
