Details
Overview
Eligibility (per CT DVA Veterans License Plates article): Any person honorably discharged from, released under honorable conditions from, or released with an other-than-honorable discharge based on a qualifying condition from active service in the armed forces (per CGS Section 27-103(a)(2)). For campaign-specific plates, the veteran must have additionally served in the designated theater and received the appropriate Campaign Medal.
Plates available
Two types — Standard Veteran (for all eligible veterans) and Campaign-Specific. Campaign-specific plates listed: World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Operation Earnest Will, Panama, Persian Gulf War, Afghanistan War, and Iraq War.
Cost
A fee is associated with the Veteran Plate Program; the specific amount is not stated on the DVA page. Purple Heart, Medal of Honor, former POW, and Gold Star Family plates are administered separately and are not addressed on this DVA page.
How to apply
Submit CT DMV Form M-46 (Special Order Veteran Plate Application) to the DMV Customized Plates Unit, 60 State Street, Wethersfield, CT 06161.
