Overview

Eligibility (per alctssmf.org/eligibility): Resident of the State of Connecticut at the time of application and while in receipt of assistance; honorably separated from military service; minimum of 90 days active duty during an approved wartime period (less may qualify if discharged early for a VA-rated service-connected disability, or if the conflict lasted fewer than 90 days and the veteran served in a combat or combat-support role). Spouse must reside with the veteran; eligible children must be natural or adopted, under 18, and living with the veteran. Must demonstrate financial need.

Covers (per the official 'What We Cover' page): rental payments or mortgage interest, utilities (gas, electricity, water — meter-read bills only, and home heating fuel), medical expenses (with limits), emergent dental care (veterans only), eye examination and eyeglasses, audiological evaluation and hearing aids, durable medical equipment, weekly assistance, and funeral expenses. Amount varies by need.
