Honorably discharged veteran with VA service-connected disability rating of 50% or higher (no upper-tier free license — CDFW does NOT offer a free tier at 70% or 100%). Does NOT require California residency.
Covers
Reduced-fee Disabled Veteran sport fishing license at $10.04 from CDFW offices ($10.54 from license agents) and Disabled Veteran hunting license at $9.79. 2026 standard resident annual sport fishing license is $64.54 (raw fee, before agent/application fees).

How to apply
Submit verification online via the CDFW customer portal, by mail to a license sales office, or by fax. Once prequalified, future licenses can be purchased anywhere CDFW licenses are sold.
