Eligibility

5 points for veterans separated under honorable conditions with more than 6 months active duty who pass a merit system employment exam. 10 points for honorably separated veterans with a service-connected disability. Surviving spouses of veterans who died from a service-connected disability, and spouses of service members listed as missing in action or captured, are also eligible for the 5-point preference. Must earn a passing grade without preference first. Maximum preference is 10 points (does not stack).
