Who is eligible
Eligibility
Veterans who served at least one day active duty and discharged under conditions other than dishonorable receive 5-point preference. Disabled veterans and former POWs receive 10-point preference. National Guard members also qualify for 5-point preference. Per AS 39.25.159, 10-point veterans must be offered an interview for all open competitive state vacancies; 5-point veterans receive consideration.
