About this benefit
Eligibility
Honorably discharged veteran with a permanent service-connected VA disability rating of 50% or greater (or age 65+). Must be a Kansas resident for the entire tax year. Household income must be $58,041 or less. Verify current threshold with the Kansas Department of Revenue. Homestead appraised value must be $350,000 or less.
Covers
Refund equal to the difference between the base-year property tax and the current-year property tax on the homestead, up to $700/year.
How to apply
File Form K-40SVR with the Kansas Department of Revenue between January 1 and April 15.
