Eligibility
Age 65 or older; any percentage of permanent service-connected disability that is combat-related; honorable discharge; Florida homestead.
Covers
Ad valorem tax discount equal to the veteran's VA disability percentage. For example, a 70% rated veteran gets a 70% discount on homestead property taxes.
Surviving spouse
Per PT-109, this discount carries over to the veteran's surviving spouse if the spouse holds the legal or beneficial title to the homestead, permanently resides there and has not remarried.
How to apply
County Property Appraiser by March 1. Submit VA letter with disability percentage, evidence the disability is combat-related, and DD-214.
