Eligibility
Must be a New Jersey resident veteran with any service-connected disability rating from the VA (per NJSA 39:3-27.15) AND honorable discharge. Must be the registered owner of the vehicle.
Benefits
Specialty DV license plates issued for a $15 fee. Note: Vehicle registration fee waiver is narrower — applies only to veterans blind from war service or who qualified for the VA automobile grant; not all SC-rated veterans qualify for the registration waiver.
How to apply
Visit the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) with your VA disability rating letter showing service-connected disability, DD-214, and current vehicle registration.
