Eligibility
Illinois resident; served in U.S. Armed Forces on active duty or state active duty, Illinois National Guard, or U.S. Reserve Forces; 30-49% service-connected disability certified by the VA; must own and occupy the property as primary residence.
Exemption
$2,500 reduction in Equalized Assessed Value (EAV).
Filing
Must be filed annually (PTAX-342 form) with your county Supervisor of Assessments.
Surviving spouses
Non-remarried surviving spouses of disabled veterans also eligible.
