Details

Eligibility

Arizona resident with a service-connected VA disability rating. Household income limit (2026): cannot exceed $39,865 (no dependent children under 18) or $47,826 (with dependent or disabled children residing in home). Social Security, military pensions, and VA disability payments are excluded from the income calculation. Must re-file annually with county assessor (application window typically first Monday of January through February 28). Must submit VA Summary of Benefits Letter.

Covers

A $4,873 (2026) full exemption amount multiplied by the veteran's VA disability percentage (e.g., 50% rated = $2,437 off limited property value). Per ARS 42-11111 and Maricopa County Assessor guidance, the assessed value cap on the property does NOT apply to veterans (it applies only to widows/widowers/persons with disabilities). Maricopa application deadline is February 28 (or September 1 with approved waiver).
