About this benefit
Eligibility
Wyoming resident for 3+ years prior to claiming AND one of the following: served during WWI, WWII, Korean War, or Vietnam War; served overseas during an armed conflict and received an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (or equivalent); has any compensable service-connected disability rating certified by the VA; or served 20+ years in the National Guard or Reserves and is eligible for military retired pay. Property must be owned by the veteran and/or spouse as of January 1.

$6,000 reduction in assessed value of primary residence OR motor vehicle registration. Actual savings vary by county mill levy (~$400/year off property tax or ~$180/year off vehicle registration).

Must re-apply every year. The $6,000 figure applies beginning with the 2025 tax year per SF0089 (2024 legislation).
